A 19th century Dutch colonial, possibly Ceylon ebony almirah, the broken arch pediment centred with a shield and fruit, over two glazed doors enclosing adjustable shelves, fall front compartment enclosing pigeonholes and drawers, and two panelled doors on plinth foot with bun feet, width 120cm, depth 50cm, height 235cm

Condition:
Overall with a pronounced tiger stripe colouring throughout and slightly matted state of polish, central pediment has a separation in the two joining timbers just above the shield, one flat head screw has been put through the front of the shield, glazed doors had applied wood strapwork decoration much of which is now missing, lock probably original but without working key, English lock to the secretaire also looks original and has erratically working key, interior to the secretaire with old wear and ink stains but othewise complete, comes with two shelves and brackets for the upper section, base cupboards had matching applied strapwork, again much of which is missing, they enclose a single shelf that is not adjustable.
