Case gilding tarnished, particularly around dial; otherwise case structurally good, including ceramic plaques. Circular French movement backplate stamped by retailer ‘Chas. Frodsham & Co., To The Queen, 84 Strand, 18868, Paris. 8-day movement striking on a bell; has been wound and appears to work for an hour or two but mechanism cannot be sustained. With a key and pendulum. Please note height 34cm, not 40cm as catalogued. 24cm wide max.; depth 12cm. On a giltwood stand which is 3cm high; 31cm wide. Blue velvet worn and faded around perimeter.
