Condition:
Honest untouched condition perhaps one or two tiny flakes and chips, giltwood frame, extensive artists inscriptions verso. Provenance: The paintings were previously owned by the vendor's grandfather, who passed away a number of years ago now. Grandfather's's name was Frank Carey and he used to own a hotel in Southport called The Scarisbrick Hotel. Frank and Isherwood became friends and after a short stay in Billinge Hospital Isherwood stayed at The Scarisbrick, although couldn't afford the fees for a room. Frank had always loved Isherwood's work and as payment for a room Isherwood painted a number of artworks for him. That collection was generously left to the vendors family in Frank's will.
