Condition:
Provenance; purchased from a deceased estate of a Norfolk manor house some years ago. It was believed to have been done as a comment on the trial of Charles 1st prior to his execution. Oil on canvas relined many years ago with a large patch near 12 o’clock showing on the work as an L shaped retouch above the central figures head. Otherwise some light scuffing elsewhere, housed in an old reeded ebonised frame no labels or inscriptions verso
