Provenance: Stanley Baldwin (1867-1947), Astley Hall, Worcestershire; The Right Honourable Oliver Ridsdale Baldwin (1899-1958), Little Stoke House, North Stoke, Oxfordshire; John Parke Boyle (1893-1969), Little Stoke House, Oxfordshire (see: 'Oliver Baldwin: A Life of Dissent' by Christopher J. Overall retaining its original form but dented and knocked from use over the years. The front left corner has a split running effectively from top to bottom. The left side is undecorated, the right side has matching decoration to that of the front. The front right corner looks to have an old soldered repair as do both back corners, back top left is just starting to split again. Internally there is a divider which runs from approx. 2in. below the top to approx. 4in. above the bottom. This equally has seen re-soldering at some point. Please see our additional photographs for further information. It does look like there was once at least one hole in the base that has now been plugged and a further hole top left at the back.
