A late 19th century Chinese Export white metal card case, decorate with figures at various pursuits in landscape scene, the interior with two pierced card holders, unmarked, 11.2cm, 7oz.

Hinges loose in situ, replaced pins?? Small dent to two corners. Some minor surface scratches in places. Quite tarnished. Decoration still quite crisp, commensurate with age and some use.



Provenance - Alfred Theodore Arber-Cooke (c.1910-1993); thence by family descent. Arber-Cooke lived in Carmarthenshire, Wales and was an avid collector of European & Asian works of art and an author of the History of Llandovery. He was collecting from the 1940s to the 1980s.
