Oil on original canvas in honest untouched condition, canvas slightly sinking inwards with stretcher marks showing around the edges, paint looks rather dirty with a fine craquelure running through much of the paint, two small losses of paint showing as tiny brown spots, one above the main mast, another to the right of it, signed and dated lower left, housed in the original gilt gesso frame which has been restored and overpainted gold, but now is rather tatty, feint old Christie's stencil mark verso.
