Oli on a poorly stretched canvas so the canvas undulates. A 3 to 4 inch old split or tear running vertically down through the sitters nose which has been crudely patched and retouched. Craquelure throughout the paint, one small paint flake lost lower right. Plain gilt frame.
Overall this requires some professional restoration.
