Lot 324 , A William and Mary stool, later painted W.4ft 6in. D.1ft 5in.
A William and Mary stool, later painted upholstered in rust coloured fabric with matching cushion, on six baluster turned legs joined by wavy X stretcher, W.4ft 6in. D.1ft 5in.
Estimate £300-500
The painted decoration which is principally black has seen a fair amount of wear throughout with the original colour of the timber showing through the paint in places along with the gesso under the paint showing white scattered here and there throughout and further other rubbing marks, looks to have been one or two old repairs to the stretcher, the frame overall however is very solid with barely any wobble, upholstery serviceable if unremarkable.
