A Louis XVI ormolu mounted satinwood and rosewood writing cabinet, by Godefroy Dester, with all round gallery, two mirrored doors flanking a central timepiece with replaced movement, the enamelled dial with moonphase, signed Vaillant, writing flap and two doors enclosing a deep drawer, stamped G. Dester JME on the back (Maitre 27th July 1774), W.2ft 8in. D.2ft H.4ft 6in.
