A Chinese pale celadon jade group of Shou Lao and a recumbent deer, 19th century, the figure holding a peach and his staff with a figure of a bat on his shoulder, height 5.3cm

Provenance: by family repute formerly in the Arthur Flynn collection, purchased from Bluett's before 1980.

The stone is of good even tone with only a slightly darker inclusion on one leaf on the back of the figure, another leaf on the back of Shou Lao has slight white opaque look to it where it has possibly been very slightly chipped and there is slight abrasion around some of the edges such at the robes, the feet of the figures and the left wing of the bat on his back, otherwise in reasonable condition.
