André Citroën approached René Lalique to come up with an appropriate design for his new 5CV (Chevaux Vapour) motorcar, what Lalique produced was a marvellous concept reflecting the car in animal form. This being the first official car mascot produced for a specific make of automobile.

Tiny chip to the mane, tiny chip to the reverse side tip of the hooves, old discoloured glue around the mount which is not readlily removeable. Unsigned mount overpainted in metallic grey with some oxidisation spotting and verdigris.
