Estimate £3,000-5,000

The case is in good condition with some small losses to the extremities of the corners on the cornice, the brass furniture is dull and tarnished including the feet, the dial is a little tarnished and the minute hand may be a possible replacement, the signature is slightly worn from having been resilvered in the past, the back door of the case has had some alterations, there is a cut out along the top of the lower rail and the upper post has been sawn through for some unspecified reason but there is nothing to suggest that this is a replacement door, it looks original and the colour matches perfectly, the lock on the door is partially detached and the outer moulding has been split but could easily be repaired.
The movement is dirty and dull and there is some old oil on the backplate and generally is in fairly untouched condition apart from the gut lines have been replaced with wire. The case is in good order apart from two small losses to the side of the door to the veneer and the usual veneer shrinkage cracks, the rear door has chips to the outer edge and small losses and the silks to the side frets are a little faded, the movement is highly polished and functions smoothly, probably been serviced recently, it may require a light clean, the gut lines have been replaced with wire, the dial appears to have been repainted although not recently, there is scratching to the left of the subsidiary strike silent dial where there are radial scratches to the subsidiary itself, the centre of the chapter ring is very dirty and has had some poor retouching around the winding squares, the hands are good but they require re-gluing and there is wear to the calendar subsidiary.
