A late 18th century mahogany table clock, unsigned, with break arch case and painted Roman dial with subsidiary calendar above VI and strike / silent to arch, the two train fusee movement with verge escapement, the robust plates united by five knopped pillars, the backplate engraved with foliate scrolls and flowers, height 16.5in.

Case is in good condition with just some small losses to the veneers, a small section by the lock and a small section to one side of the edges of the front door, there is the usual minor shrinkage cracks to the veneers, the brass furniture is polished and the sound fret silks are a little faded but otherwise good, the back door has losses to the edges - the largest being about 0.75 inch, the dial has been repainted, it is very dirty around the winding holes in the centre and the calendar subsidiary dial, there is radial scratchings to the chapter ring and there is radial scratching to the strike silent subsidiary, there is also an area of scratching to the lower left side of the strike silent subsidiary, the hands are in good condition but would benefit from re-gluing, the movement is polished and clean and functions, but is not guaranteed, the gut lines have been replaced with wire, the dial feet have been reattached to the dial but do not appear to have moved positions.
