Several of the pieces have been broken and glued, including on the white side there is two pawns that have been broken off at the ankles and reglued and a third pawn that has been cast in plaster as a replacement, one of the knights has had his head detached and glued and there are chips to the base, the second knights head is lacking and the reins of the horse to one side are lacking, a bishop - part of the base has been broken and reglued and one castle has a small chip to the castellations, the second castle has a chipped castellation and one castellation lacking.
Black figures - one bishop has had his head reglued, the queen has a chip to the rear of the base, both castles are lacking several castellations, one knight his reins are lacking and the second knight the head of the horse has been broken and reglued and has a chip out of the front of the base.
