Estimate £500-800

This piece of furniture was stored in a warehouse where there was a fire and as a consequence has suffered some damage mostly from a sprinkler system, the skiver is old probably not original, shows light scuffing and wear and is lifting in one corner, the top has suffered most of the water damage, with much of the original finish lost and splitting running particularly at the left end, will require a good repolish, below this the desk is in better order, the overhanging top having protected the drawer fronts, colour is a mid brown tone not the usual reddish of rosewood, this tone is matched at the sides and shows only slightly darker in the kneehole, feet show a little fair wear and tear, handles and locks all look original but no key present, other than the top overall fair to good condition. One carved scrolling bracket loose from the back left side, this is in one of the drawers.
