A pair of George II silver sauce boats, attributed to Joseph Sanders, length 195mm, weight 24.4 oz/760grms.

A pair of George II silver sauce boats, attributed to Joseph Sanders, hallmarked London 1734, with shaped rims, on three hoof feet and fitted with scroll and acanthus leaf capped handles, length 195mm, weight 24.4 oz/760grms.
Estimate £500-700

There is the tiniest curling of one tiny section of the rim on one sauce boat and three appears to be a small flaw to the surface of the silver on the inside of one of the boats near the foot. Overall condition is otherwise good.

MARKS: The marks struck on the base of the sauce boats comprise the 'Lion Passant' mark for sterling silver; 'Crowned Leopards Head' mark of the London Assay Office; Makers Initials (rubbed but probably 'JS' for Joseph Sanders); Date Letter 'T' for 1734.
Overall quite rubbed.
