A Victorian brass mounted coromandel wood travelling toilet box containing ten silver mounted bottles/jars, with engraved monogram, James Vickery, London, 1860, the brass lock stamped "S.Mordan & Co", 30.5cm.
Estimate £200-300

The gap behind the velvet interior cover of the lid is now vacant, mirror missing?? There are a couple of minor splits to the veneer on both side panels and there some minor surface scratches to the box in general, commensurate with age and use. Monogrammed brass plate to centre of lid. Three jar lids are apparently unmarked. One stopper is stuck in situ and one of the other stoppers has been ground to remove a chip. Apart from a few nibbles to glass bases of some of the bottles, they are in good order. Hallmarks on all stamped pieces are clear. Overall general condition is reasonably good.
A piece of the brass stringing to the front of the box has become detached. Some of it is present but is out of shape and incomplete. There is a key present for the base drawer but not for the main lock.
