A Japanese ivory okimono of Kwannon standing upon a giant carp, early 20th century, supported by a seated fisherman, three character signature to a red lacquer plaque, 24.3cm, wood stand

The okimono is carved from one piece of ivory and where there is a natural fault in the core of the ivory, some sections have been stuck in on the back of Kwannon and the head of the fish which have then been over-engraved, now with some discolouration around the area, otherwise in good condition.
