A Japanese ivory okimono of a farmer smoking a pipe, early 20th century, seated amid his crop of vegetables, engraved two character signature to a red lacquer plaque to the base, height 9cm, ebonised wood stand

This is a sectional carving and some of the pieces on it are slightly loose but there are no pieces lacking, there is the odd minor age crack to the ivory and there is a let-in plug to a natural fault in the ivory on the rear left side of the farmers head, with some discolouration and slight flaking around the area.
