A Nepalese gilt copper alloy 'jewelled' figure of Vajradhara, early Malla period, 15th century, wearing elaborate jewellery and a flowing scarf, with crossed arms holding a vajra in his right hand and a ghanta in his left, seated on a double lotus throne, containing an early scroll and precious items including lapis lazuli and gold in a cloth, height 20.3cm, later paste and stone cabochons

The jewelling to the figure is mostly replacement in enamel some in hardstone, there is wear to the gilding on the high parts all over, there is wear around the foot consistent with age, we have not attempted to unravel the scroll with the precious items in cloth contained within the figures, essentially in good condition with some minor wear consistent with age, no restoration, chips or cracks.
