Numerous scratches and surface indentation and patches where the varnish has worn away on the back of the violin including the edges which have had a few knocks also, again the back of the neck is slightly worn, the varnish has gone where the hand has been, the front again with numerous scratches, indentations or patches where the varnish has worn away, what appears to be very slight surface cracks which are running vertically on the violin which are visible from the photographs on our website, they are not full cracks but small slight hairline splits which are beginning to appear, generally reasonably good condition considering age.
