Two Zsolnay Persian style dishes, late 19th century, each painted in enamel colours with a phoenix and flowers on a gilt matted ground, diam.37cm.

Crazing to the glaze all over to both dishes, the first dish with a phoenix has some wear to the gilt on the polychrome decoration and is discoloured to the underside, the second dish with a griffen type creature has heavy bubbling and burnt patches to the gilt ground, some wear to gilding all over.
