Charles Alexandre Coessin de la Fosse (1829-1910)
oil on wooden panel,
Florentine guardsmen and a hound beside a doorway,
signed,
16 x 13in.
Estimate £800-1,200

Oil on mahogany panel in good untouched condition, perhaps the very slightest outward bowing of the board which is slightly too small for its current frame showing a gap across the top with three tiny chip marks and a further division running down the right margin where it is laid next to another piece of board, signed lower right, all the paint looking to be in good original condition, no signs of any faults or overpainting, would benefit from a clean, housed in an ornate gilt scroll frame, old Sotheby Parke Bernet of Stockholm label verso.

Descriptions provided in both printed and on-line catalogue formats do not include condition reports. The absence of a condition statement does not imply that the lot is in perfect condition or completely free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of aging. Interested bidders are strongly encouraged to request a condition report on any lots upon which they intend to bid, prior to placing a bid.
