Oil on canvas relined within the past 10 - 20 years or so, now looking rather dirty with signs of old retouched damage. One or two small spots where holes have been, also what looks to be a repaired inverted L shaped tear to the right of the sitters head, rather patchy varnishing with fine but stable craquelure running through much of the work but not the blue of his coat, housed in a later moulded frame. No labels or inscriptions verso.
