Hatchment for the death on 29 March 1839 of Lt. Gen. Sir Herbert Taylor, GCB, GCH, but survived by his wife Charlotte Albina, daughter of Edward Disbrowe, MP, vice-chamberlain to Queen Charlotte. Herbert Taylor was born on 29 Sept 1775 and married Charlotte Disbrowe in 1819.
General Taylor was Private Secretary to the sovereigns Geo III, Geo IV and William IV and honoured with the KCH in 1819, GCH in 1825 and GCB in 1834. The insignia of the two grand crosses embellish this hatchment.
His two daughters also survived him.
