A large Chinese archaistic bronze hu-shaped vase, 18th century, decorated with bands of taotie masks on a leiwen ground above lappets, the neck with a pair of high looped handles, 36.5cm

Possibly Japanese 18th / 19th century.
There are typical minor casting imperfections all over, there is a horizontal split to one of the panels which light can be shone through.
Also a small old repair visible on the interior and slightly on the exterior towards the base.
