An early 19th century mahogany bow-fronted stick barometer, Berge, London, late Ramsden

A Regency mahogany bowfront stick barometer, with silvered scale and thermometer, signed Berge, London, late Ramsden, and later 1922 presentation plaque, 3ft 1in.

Overall has the appearance of having the case restored 20 - 30 years ago or more, top of the case sits slightly above the sides leaving a notable gap at the top right side, silvering on the scale has more or less been polished away to a brass finish, case has a rather flat finish and may well benefit from a repolish, silvering to the thermometer looks original, some wear and a hairline crack to the cistern cover, an adjustment knob is missing, both thermometer and barometer are working. Presentation plaque inscribed to Peter from Barclays Staff 4th Nov 1922.
