Ivory card cases were carved by one or several Chinese familiar with carving techniques learned in Canton or Shanghai, shortly after Napoleon`s death in exile on the island of St Helena in 1821.

The card case is 10.8cm high, 6.6cm wide and 2cm deep.
The slide off cover is missing both ends to each side and the lower body has a chip to one corner near the inner sleeve, generally a bit grubby.
