A Waterloo medal to Ensign Frederick de Ronne, King's German Legion Friedrich von Ronne joined the Kings German Legion in March 1814 and was appointed Gentleman Ensign on the 21 March 1814 serving in the Netherlands and at the Battle of Waterloo. He fought at Waterloo as part of Lieutenant Harry Dehnels 3rd Line Battalion KGL, Col du Plats 1st KGL Brigade.
Friedrich Ludwig von Ronne (1799-1865) was a Prussian jurist, politician, diplomat, author and German Ambassador to the United States.

This medal has suffered a fair degree of wear with knocks and dents around the edges and fairly heavy wear to the naming, this is however just about still legible, suspension pin looks like a later replacement as is the ribbon.
Comes with a steel engraving of the recipient together with fairly extensive research carried out by the vendor.
