Oil on original canvas in untouched condition, a very slight sag to the canvas, along with a little undulation, paint is very dirty, certainly in need of a good clean, some broad but stable craqelure running through much of the work but most prominently in her hair, through her neck and the white in the centre of her dress. Dirt splashes down the right hand side and very slight rubbing in the lower right corner, signed top right, in an overpainted gilt scroll frame which is a little tatty, looks like it has been re-stretched within the past 10 years or so, this probably needs re-doing to better effect.
