gouache and watercolour on paper,
Illumination of a standing warrior,
11 x 4.5in.
Estimate £150-250
Watercolour, gouache and gilt on a very thin paper which is not laid down, infact the work has a clear film of backing so when held up to light one can see a number of holes through the paper around and through the figure with larger holes near the bottom particularly the one to the lower right of his feet, still retaining fair strength of colour but probably some fading has occured, some light undulation of the paper, calligraphic inscription verso along with old cellotape at the top and bottom margins which appear to still be there, green fabric covered mount with some white mould specking and a slim gilt glazed frame, indistinct but detailed pencil inscription verso regarding the work.
Comes for sale from a local house clearance.
