A Tibetan brass mounted human skull kapala, 19th century, the bowl with liner and the matching repousse work cover mounted with turquoise matrix cabochons and decorated with characters and multi-armed deities surmounted by a vajra finial, on a triangular stand with Buddhist heads to each corner flanking flames, on a lotus embossed base with ox heads to each corner, 27.5cm

Bowl is lacking 8 of the turquoise cabochons to the border, the cover is lacking 19 turquoise cabochons, the finial has possibly been refixed, the stand has some splits to one corner where the head is moved away slightly from the opposing side, there is also a triangular plinth and one foot has come away from this slightly, otherwise occasional minor scratches, wear and patination consistent with age.
