Oil on canvas cleaned, relined and restored within the past 10 - 20 years, paint now looking a little flattened, slight sag to the canvas, evidence of a fine but stable craquelure running through most of the work, some signs of retouching and overpainting notably the darker grey blue clouds across the top of the sky and some of the very dark browns and greens of the woods along the right margin, apparently unsigned, in a highly ornate reproduction gilt gesso frame which has one or two small losses to the moulding, labels and chalking on the back suggesting this work has previously been at Sotheby's.
