A George III mahogany and brass mounted longcase regulator by S & C Joyce, Lombard Street, London, with fluted corners to the trunk and hood, containing brass inlay within the bottom third of the routed flutes, three train eight day movement, silvered circular dial with Roman numerals and separate seconds dial with Arabic numerals, circular bezel to the door, the hood with pierced brass fretwork to the sides, the bottom of the door and three sides of the top section of the hood, surmounted by three brass pineapple finials, six pillar movement with thick front and back plates, deadbeat escapement and maintaining power, with rack striking mechanism between the front plate and the dial, striking on a bell and chiming on a further ten bells, escapement with mercury jar pendulum, and pendulum beat scale attached to the backboard, keys present for both the hood and the trunk, 222cm high overall

Light marks to silvered dial, not serious; movement fairly clean; oak seatboard may be original; cheeks don’t appear to have been disturbed although the fixing to the seatboard has been renewed, images 21 and 22.
