A pair of Chinese iron red and underglaze blue ‘dragon’ dishes, Qianlong seal mark and of the period (1736-95), each finely painted to the centre with an iron-red scaly five-clawed dragon writhing amidst underglaze blue swirling waves, the underside similarly decorated with nine dragons under a narrow band of flower-heads, 17.7cm diameter, minor damage

Thomas Snow was British Minister to Cuba from 1935 to 1937, British Minister to Finland from 1937 to 1940, British Minister to Colombia from 1941 to 1945 (Ambassador from 1944 to 1945), and British Minister to Switzerland from 1946 to 1949.
