An unusual pair of gold and labradorite panels, circa 1900, depicting Venus chastising Cupid among roses, and Cupid with a butterfly, possibly Psyche, among roses, backed with mosaic panels of labradorite, 3.8 x 2.9cm each, fitted case stamped Johnson, Walker and Tolhurst Ltd

Condition:
Very attractive work, roses in higher relief than figures, roses on one with a blackened finish. Finely done, authorship unknown. Panels are likely from an object or larger jewel, now detached. Both are backed in base metal. Some cracks to labradorite mosaic backing but overall intact and in good condition. No obvious damage, deficiencies or restoration. Some unevenness to borders and backs.
