A Chinese blue-glazed cong form vase, Qianlong seal mark and of the period (1736-95), the sturdily potted vase of square section, applied with a pair of moulded elephant-head handles suspended with fixed rings, covered with a lustrous dark violet-blue glaze paling to a lighter blue on the edges, underglaze blue six character seal mark ‘Da Qing Qianlong Nianzhi’, height 28.7cm, base diameter 11.4cm, two small splinter chips to one ear and a corner, fitted zitan stand

Provenance - private family collection, acquired prior to 1940.

Condition:
There is a small splinter chip loss to one of the elephant ears and a very shallow splinter chip to one of the bottom corners of the vase. Typical minor glaze and manufacturing imperfections, very grubby to the interior and unglazed foot, with some occasional grubbiness to the exterior, otherwise in good condition. Stand good; dirty.
