A 19th century Indian red and cream silk runner, heavily embroidered with scrolling motifs, using a variety of stump work and gold wire work stitches, with earlier Mughal influences, 118cm x 46.5cm (not including braid), backing cotton added later. Condition - both red and cream silk fragile. The gold embroidery is tarnished but strong.
