Three early 19th century samplers. One by Elizabeth Thoroughgood dated July 11th 1817, another from Ellen to Caroline, 22nd August 1829 and the third by Jane Hall aged 11, 1829. The first finely embroidered with a verse and coloured spot motifs. The second in black cross stitch, an alphabet sample, the third on coarse linen in multi coloured silks, with alphabet at the top and larger spot motifs within a border, 31cm x 35cm. Condition - the first and third have holes and damage to the backing. The cross stitch sampler is in good condition without damage.
