Condition:
Not cleaned, re-lined or re-stretched; two small areas either side of her forehead that are dis-coloured or rubbed or varnish-free; uniform craquelure. Unknown whether the moulded gilt-gesso frame is original to the work. Images 10 and 11 show several screws driven into the back of the frame, presumably to attach the applied sections of gesso.
