A mid 18th century mahogany eight day longcase clock, the inner chapter ring signed D. Seddon, Frodsham, for Daniel Seddon, ‘Halifax moon’ action within the painted arch showing a nocturnal scene with castle, trees and stars, above a brass dial with silvered chapter rings displaying Roman hour numerals and Arabic minutes, the centre of the dial with engraved geometric decoration, the inner chapter ring with arched date indicator and hands with centre second sweep, arched hood with fluted Corinthian columns,
two train, four pillar movement striking on a bell, steel pendulum with brass bob, two unenclosed lead weights, inlaid trunk with fluted columns to the sides and key for the door, 229cm high
