Condition:
A copy of Jean Antoine Théodore Gudin's work. Oil on canvas relined 20 - 30 years ago, canvas remains tight and paint clean with a fine but stable craquelure running through much of the paint, apparently unsigned, housed in a modern gilt scroll frame which is in good order. UV light shows extensive retouching of craquelure throughout the white and pale blue sky and running down into the sea to the right of the barge, further retouching around the margins notably top left, apparently not retouched in the smoke.
