A large Japanese Satsuma pottery koro and cover, Meiji period, painted to each side with hunting scenes, the globular body slide with a pair of elephant head handles, on three mythical beast mask feet, the pierced domed cover surmounted by the figure of Jurojin with a deer, six character gilt mark and eight character impressed mark, 36cm, some damage

Condition:
The figures of Jurojin and the deer have losses to the ribbons at the back of his head. His head has been broken off and restored the deers antlers are both been broken off and restored and there are losses and restorations to his staff, there are two overglaze firing cracks to the cover around the pierced holes. One of the feet has been broken off and re-glued with some old glue around the area.
