Condition:
Oil on what appears to be the original canvas, two repaired holes punctured through it, one at the top above and to left of the main red flower, the other in the middle of the pink and white rose showing left of centre, both retouched to good effect, otherwise a fair amount of cracquelure scattered throughout the work, no sign of any signature, looks rather dirty, housed in a later gilt frame with attribution plaque, no labels or inscriptions verso. UV examination shows black patches of overpainting two between the flowers top right and one nearer the top right margin. A few other smaller patches of black in the centre and near 3 o'clock. The previously mentioned repainted patched areas do not show up on the UV.
