Condition:
Image remains strong but the ground paper has some discolouration from damp together with fox marks and other spotting, oldish card mount and slim gilt frame. Royal Academy Winter 1897 Exhibition label verso wear near illegible inscription, further label from Maas & Co, together with a print of the finished work for which this is a study and a typed label giving further details of the work completed in 1864 ex. Collection Hamilton Aidé close friend of the artist, furthermore it says See Life Letters and Work of Frederic Leighton, Mrs Russell Barrington 1906, vol.2 107-14,.
