A large Japanese sectional ivory okimono of a fisherman and a boy, Meiji period, height 26cm

A large Japanese sectional ivory okimono of a fisherman and a boy, Meiji period, height 26cm
Estimate £100-200

Fisherman's left lower leg glue-repaired at knee and ankle; his right ankle cracked; basket repaired with some losses to side of basket; his left arm is complete and supports the child's position; natural cracks to both heads and to base.

Front of basket incomplete section, approx. 25 mm. Belt does not continue all way around his back, not believed this 3cm. section was ever there. Curious hole at his left backside, possibly indicating the loss of another basket.

Child's right foot missing.
