Provenance - Alfred Theodore Arber-Cooke (c.1910-1993); thence by family descent. Arber-Cooke lived in Carmarthenshire, Wales and was an avid collector of European & Asian works of art and an author of the History of Llandovery. He was collecting from the 1940s to the 1980s.

Some patination loss to nose, left shoulder, ears and knee, the base seems to have a crack in the base to right side, base split and reinforced with a strip of sheet brass and two studs, length of split approx. 15cm - is not a crack and does not threaten the structure of the base.
