Estimate £200-300

Fairly crisply cast particularly so for cast iron, possibly at one time gilt but now showing traces of gold paint in the recesses, the brass ball is slightly dented and scuffed, and the black marble plinth may well be a later replacement and has two wire connections to the lion's feet sticking out the bottom, these are concealed by the lower plinth, the ormolu is rather dirty and matted and looks to have had some retouching with gold paint, lower part of the plinth is black slate which has been cold painted to look like marble and has some chipping particularly at the front right corner.
