A late 16th century Italian chestnut refectory table, with planked top and trestle underframe, 7ft 6in. x 3ft 2in. H.2ft 6.5in.

Top is made from two panels which have separated at the joint, there are further old splits and cracks and worm holes running through the grain along with numerous old dents scuff and scratches commensurate with age, top is now fairly rubbed with the original dark finish now going down to a pale tone, trestle underframe similarly showing wear, rubbing and old worm holes, stretcher worn commensurate with age, feet have had some infill presumably to re-inforce old worm damage.
